Chris Cropley
Chief Information Officer & Executive Director, Tidal Network
Chris Cropley serves as Chief Information Officer Tlingit & Haida and Executive Director of Tidal Network. In these roles, he provides executive leadership for the Tribe’s technology enterprise, advancing technology strategy, cybersecurity, connectivity, digital transformation, and innovation across Tribal operations while supporting Tlingit & Haida’s economic sovereignty.
Cropley brings nearly three decades of experience in telecommunications, network infrastructure, technology operations, and information systems. He joined Tlingit & Haida in 2021 as a Network Architect and has served in leadership roles since 2022, helping advance the Tribe’s technology infrastructure and connectivity initiatives.
Prior to joining Tlingit & Haida, Cropley served nearly 10 years as Territory Manager with Leverage Information Systems and four years as Network Manager with Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC). Earlier in his career, he worked as a telecommunications consultant from 1998 to 2006.
As CIO, Cropley advises Tlingit & Haida’s executive leadership on technology investments, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, and digital transformation. He leads strategies designed to strengthen Tribal sovereignty, enhance operational excellence, protect critical information and systems, and support the Tribe’s long-term growth.
As Executive Director of Tidal Network, Cropley provides strategic leadership for business development, financial performance, client relationships, service delivery, partnerships, and organizational growth. His work focuses on expanding connectivity and identifying sustainable technology and business opportunities that contribute to Tlingit & Haida’s economic sovereignty.
Cropley holds a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications Management from DeVry University. His professional credentials include Cisco Customer Success Manager Specialist certification and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Routing and Switching certification.
