
Debra O’Gara

Elected Term: 2025-2027
Dzijúksuk, Debra O’Gara, brings more than 35 years of legal experience to the position, having served as a prosecutor, staff attorney, private practitioner, and mediator. She previously served as Tribal Court Chief Justice from 2012 to 2015 and as a Tribal Court Magistrate from 2007 to 2010. For over a decade, she has worked diligently to advance and protect Indian Child Welfare.
Dzijúksuk is Tlingit, Yeíl (Raven), of the Teeyhittaan clan of Wrangell. Her Tlingit name is Dzijúksuk. She resides in Petersburg, Alaska. Her great-grandmother was Tillie Paul Tamaree, a respected civil rights activist and the mother of William and Louis Paul.
