Apportionment of Delegates Report Released

Apportionment of Delegates Report Released

Published January 16, 2026

The Apportionment of Delegates Report has been published on Tlingit & Haida’s Elections webpage. The report outlines how many Delegates each of the Tribe’s 22 recognized communities may elect for the upcoming election cycle.

The community representation numbers reflect changes approved by Delegates at the 2025 Tribal Assembly. Delegate representation is based on one Delegate for every 275 tribal citizens age 18 and older, with minimum and maximum limits depending on whether a community is inside or outside the Tribe’s homelands.

Tribal citizens are encouraged to review the report and stay informed on Tlingit & Haida’s elections.

Role of Delegates

Elected Delegates represent their communities and serve as the governing body of Tlingit & Haida while Tribal Assembly is in session. Delegates serve two-year terms and attend the annual Tribal Assembly to legislate and oversee the affairs and property of the Tribe.
