The Family Wellbeing program provides in-home services to tribal citizens whose children are at risk of state child welfare involvement or out-of-home placement. Services include:
- Early intervention/preventative family services
- Weekly in-home services (parenting education, transportation, supervised visitations)
- Support and referral services
- Coordinated case management
- Facilitation of family meetings
Eligibility Requirements
- Tribal families who are at risk of state child welfare involvement, or
- Tribal families who are receiving or are eligible for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) benefits (this includes Adult Not Included TANF recipients)
- Families must agree to weekly visits and to actively engage with Family Caseworker on identifying needs and working towards achieving goals
Application Process
Must receive referral from:
- Tlingit & Haida TANF Department requesting in-home family support services, or
- Self-referral, or
- State of Alaska, Office of Children’s Services (OCS) requesting in-home early intervention/preventative services, or
- Other service providers or support agencies
