Humor

Artist’s Statement

This piece represents a frog watching a beaver drop a stick on its own head and reacting humorously. The depiction of the beaver is warped because the stick just struck him on the head. The frog is shown snickering at the beaver’s clumsiness or goofy expression.

I felt that warped forms were especially fitting for capturing a humorous scene. For a beaver to hit itself on the head as a professional dam builder, it would likely be funny and amusing to the viewer.
