Patience

Artist’s Statement:

This value was easily one of my favorites because the name and theme mesh so well. It depicts a hunter in the daylight waiting for the wolf, and a wolf at night lying in wait. Both show patience: if the hunter doesn’t engage the wolf on his own terms, he could be eaten—he can’t rush. Likewise, the wolf can’t wander into the man’s territory; it must wait until the man is out and alone.

Their respective restraint and patience serve them both well. They may be waiting forever, but they are playing it safe. The idea emphasizes that being reckless is dangerous, while waiting and exercising patience can be rewarding.
