Pride in Family, Clan & Tradition is Found in Love, Loyalty & Generosity
Artist’s Statement:
The best depiction I could think of is making your family proud through your generosity. Gifts are often spoken about in tradition, as in, “That Raven clan guy gave us a lot of abalone—those Raven clan guys are alright!” I represented this with a Raven figure handing over silver or abalone to someone in need. That kind of caring and generosity makes your clan look good as a whole. I would be proud to be family with people like that, and traditionally, gifts symbolize both status and friendship.
