The Tlingit & Haida Higher Education Program provides scholarship opportunities for all tribal citizens residing in the U.S. and are currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing an associate degree or higher.

SCHOLARSHIPS
College Student Assistance:
The College Student Assistance (CSA) Scholarship Award is a year-round program available to students once per term. Funding for the College Student Assistance Scholarship is based on a compact agreement between Tlingit & Haida and the Southeast Alaska IRA tribes. Students who originate from the following compacted service areas are eligible to apply for CSA funding: Haines, Hydaburg, Juneau, Pelican, Saxman, and Tenakee.
To be eligible to apply, you must:
- Be enrolled in Tlingit & Haida Central Council, Indian Tribes of Alaska
- Originate from a Southeast Alaska community.
- Be enrolled in and attend an accredited college or university.
- Be pursuing an associate degree or higher.
- Have a cumulative GPA of 2.0.
- Reside in the US
Students will be required to provide:
- Unofficial copy of transcripts
- A class schedule or a Certified Enrollment Verification confirming full-time or part-time attendance for the term. (Transcripts are not accepted.)
- An invoice or statement from the school showing all charges for the application term Students will be required to provide:
** College Student Assistance is not available during summer semesters. The CSA is available only once per term.

Alumni Scholarship Assistance Program
The Alumni Scholarship Assistance Program is a one-time, per-academic-year scholarship award that serves all tribal citizens residing in the US, regardless of their Southeast Alaska community affiliation. Award amounts are based on annual fundraising activities, including memorial donations, private donations, vendor/associate solicitations, and fundraisers. The ASAP application period runs from July 1st to September 15th.
To be eligible to apply, you must:
- Be enrolled in Tlingit & Haida
- Be enrolled in and attending an accredited college or university.
- Be pursuing an associate degree or higher.
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Reside in the US
Students will be required to provide:
- Their T&H enrollment number
- Unofficial Copy of transcripts
- A class schedule OR a Certified Enrollment Verification verifying full-time attendance for the term. (transcripts are not accepted)
Please remember that our scholarship funding is supplemental and not intended to be a tuition assistance program. Students are encouraged to explore other financial resources that are available to them.
